Most of these have been written because I needed them and a similar
and/or working program didn't exist. Many have grown with the time
and received advanced features I didn't even think of when I started
the project. Some of them only work in a special environment or
require much memory. Some others are ugly from the programmer's point
of view because they were started when I was still learning 'C' and
haven't been touched since. All of them require OS 2.04 or higher.
Most of the programs are also for free. You needn't pay for them, but
you mustn't sell or modify them. As I said already, they were created
out of a personal need. Don't expect much support - I usually try to
answer all personal mail that reaches me, but remember computers are
still a hobby and studying computer science is not all that easy. And
besides, it's for free. If I run short of time, I will surely still
support FFRS, my only shareware project so far.
Especially if you are working and earn money yourself, I would greatly
appreciate a donation if you regularly use one/some of the Freeware
utilities. Please send whatever you find appropriate. I spent lots
and lots of time on them...
A word about bug reports: If you encounter a crash or strange things
happen on your system, don't forget to include
* Your system's configuration (OS version, CPU,
BBS/Mailer/Tosser/Editor/other Software you run)
* A detailed description of what happens. Set you log level to
somewhere high (if possible) and - IMPORTANT - make note of what was
last happened/was displayed before the error occurred.
* If you are skilled with programmer's tools, install the enforcer and
mungwall on your system.
* Get SnoopDos ('snoopdos -l -w') or Spy somewhere (should be
available at local BBSes) and look what files are (un-)successfully
accessed.
* Send your configuration file (if required) along with your bug
report.
