  29. Most  of  these  have been written because I needed them and a similar
  30. and/or  working  program  didn't exist.  Many have grown with the time
  31. and  received  advanced features I didn't even think of when I started
  32. the  project.   Some  of  them  only  work in a special environment or
  33. require much memory.  Some others are ugly from the programmer's point
  34. of  view  because  they were started when I was still learning 'C' and
  35. haven't been touched since.  All of them require OS 2.04 or higher.

  37. Most of the programs are also for free.  You needn't pay for them, but
  38. you mustn't sell or modify them.  As I said already, they were created
  39. out  of a personal need.  Don't expect much support - I usually try to
  40. answer  all  personal mail that reaches me, but remember computers are
  41. still a hobby and studying computer science is not all that easy.  And
  42. besides,  it's  for free.  If I run short of time, I will surely still
  43. support FFRS, my only shareware project so far.

  46. Especially if you are working and earn money yourself, I would greatly
  47. appreciate  a  donation  if you regularly use one/some of the Freeware
  48. utilities.   Please  send whatever you find appropriate.  I spent lots
  49. and lots of time on them...

  52. A  word about bug reports:  If you encounter a crash or strange things
  53. happen on your system, don't forget to include
  54.  
  55. *     Your     system's     configuration     (OS     version,    CPU,
  56. BBS/Mailer/Tosser/Editor/other Software you run)
  57.  
  58. *  A  detailed  description  of  what  happens.   Set you log level to
  59. somewhere  high  (if possible) and - IMPORTANT - make note of what was
  60. last happened/was displayed before the error occurred.

  62. * If you are skilled with programmer's tools, install the enforcer and
  63. mungwall on your system.

  65. *  Get  SnoopDos  ('snoopdos  -l  -w')  or  Spy  somewhere  (should be
  66. available  at  local  BBSes) and look what files are (un-)successfully
  67. accessed.

  69. *  Send  your  configuration  file  (if  required) along with your bug
  70. report.
